From television actress to movie star, funny lady Cloris Leachman has had a long and prosperous acting career that has spanned over seven decades. And she's nowhere near being done! As the esteemed actress turns 90 on April 30, let's take a look back at some of her most memorable moments in film and television.


Early in her career, Leachman studied acting at the Actors Studio in New York City. She managed to land a number of bit parts on Broadway and in television shows, but one of her first recurring roles was as Ruth Martin in the Lassie TV series from 1957 to 1958. Leachman played the part of Timmy Martin's adoptive mother throughout the second half of the fourth season, but she was eventually replaced by June Lockhart in 1959.
