Recalling The 10 Most Wild & Reckless Events in Lindsay Lohan's Wild Life As She Hits the Big 3-0

Hollywood bad girl Lindsay Lohan is perhaps better known for her numerous arrests and stints in rehab than she is for her film roles. With multiple run-ins with the law and an unfortunate string of box office bombs, Lohan has received more than her fair share of negative attention over the years. As Lohan turns 30 on July 2, take a look back at her timeline of trouble.

Mean Girls

Lohan began her career in showbiz as a child actress in the mid-'90s, starring in such films as The Parent Trap and Life-Size. But by 2004, she had found mainstream success with the release of Tina Fey's teen comedy film Mean Girls. Though Lohan's portrayal of Cady Heron in the award-winning film was critically acclaimed, the actress initially had no interest in taking on the role of the lead character. In fact, Lohan's sights were set on playing the film's antagonist -- Regina George. With word of Lohan's real-life bad-girl image just starting to spread throughout Hollywood, the role may very well have been a natural fit for the actress, but the film's director felt strongly about Lohan assuming the lead role. Little did people know that this was only the beginning of Lohan's party-hard lifestyle and tarnished reputation.

DUIs

By 2007, Lohan's out-of-control partying was starting to affect her public image. In May of that year, she was charged with driving under the influence when she lost control of her Mercedes-Benz after leaving a party in Beverly Hills. Not two months later, she was taken into custody again for chasing a woman down in her SUV. In March of 2012, Lohan's reckless driving made headlines once again when she was accused of fleeing the scene after allegedly clipping a pedestrian with her car. Then in September, she was arrested for another sideswiping incident outside of the Dream Hotel in New York City.

Addictions

When it comes to drug and alcohol abuse, Lohan has famously been caught red handed on several different occasions. In a 2013 interview with Oprah Winfrey, she opened up to the talk show host and admitted to being a deeply troubled addict. In addition to being an alcoholic, Lohan acknowledged her recreational drug use, specifically her infatuation with snorting cocaine. She was charged with cocaine possession and for driving with a suspended license during one of her DUI arrests in 2007 and violated her probation several times when traces of cocaine were found in her system.
