Turntable Jams: 'Hamilton' Mixtape Merges Hot Artists and History

Unless you've literally been living under a rock this year, you've undoubtedly heard about the megahit musical Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda's passion project premiered on Broadway in August of 2015 and has been blowing people's minds ever since. 'My Shot' - The Roots, Busta Rhymes and Joell Ortiz

The Roots are so much more than just The Tonight Show house band. This year, the band teamed up with Slaughterhouse rapper Joell Ortiz and hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes for this revitalizing spin on the original version of the song "My Shot" -- this one subtitled the Rise Up Remix. The song is Alexander Hamilton's declaration to the world that he will make a name for himself and be remembered for his greatness, even if it comes at a cost.
