The story of a troubled youth who impacts the lives of a close-knit group of people in a wealthy, upper-class neighborhood of Orange County, California became a pop cultural phenomenon that launched multiple careers and paved the way for reality shows like MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and Schwartz's hit series follow-up, Gossip Girl. Peter Gallagher (Sandy Cohen), 61

Peter Gallagher first found success on Broadway appearing with Glenn Close in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing, but his breakthrough film role was in Steven Soderbergh's Sex, Lies, and Videotape. He's had memorable roles in The Player, While You Were Sleeping and American Beauty. After playing Sandy Cohen on The O.C., Gallagher played recurring roles on Covert Affairs, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and New Girl. Gallagher is married to Paula Harwood and has two children. He's also released an album entitled 7 Days in Memphis on the Sony BMG label.
