6. Batman Returns
The star-studded ensemble of Batman Returns (1992) drove fans wild. Michael Keaton reprised his role as Batman while Danny DeVito played Penguin, Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman and Christopher Walken took on the role of Max Shreck. Despite the major line-up, the film pulled in roughly $266 million worldwide. The reception was generally positive, but there were some negative comments, and Roger Ebert slammed the picture saying film noir and superheroes don't go together. DeVito's performance was also the focus of many negative comments, saying he lacked the same energy as Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film.
